Follicle-stimulating hormone isoforms are not useful as pretreatment predictors of outcome in in vitro fertilization: a pilot study.Smeenk JM, Braat DD, Kremer JA, Sweep FC, Thomas CM Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center, Nijmegen, The Netherlands. j.smeenk@obgyn.umcn.nl The objective of this study was to determine the predictive value of FSH isoforms for the outcome of IVF treatment. Although this pilot study comprises only a small number of patients, we conclude that because no statistical differences could be found in the isoform-composition between poor and good responders, it is not likely that FSH isoforms predict treatment outcome after IVF.
