Estimation of human sperm gene-specific deoxyribonucleic acid damage by real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis.San Gabriel M, Zhang X, Zini A Division of Urology, Department of Surgery, Royal Victoria Hospital, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It has been reported that spermatozoa of infertile men have poorer DNA integrity than that of fertile men. Using analyses based on real-time polymerase chain reaction, we have estimated the relative gene-specific DNA damage in human spermatozoa and have observed that the spermatozoa of infertile men possess measurably more DNA damage than that of fertile men.
